Metallica’s New Project

Kirk Hammett, Metallica’s guitarist revealed that the band will be heading back to the studio this May to begin their new project. Their plan was supposed to begin in March but they pushed it back to May. All Hammett said was, “We want to record it in two weeks.” So basically, it’s a recording project.

Lars Ulrich, Metallica’s drummer mentioned a little about working on material for the band’s tenth album. Ulrich did say that the band had plans to enter the studio this spring and they’d be getting back to work sometime soon. He told a Danish newspaper, “In the past, we would be fed up with Metallica whenever we returned home after a gigantic world tour, but this time it’s different.”

Metallica will next headline the “Big Four” concert on April 23 at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California, also featuring Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth.

The single U.S. date is the result of popular demand after the four bands went on a wildly successful seven-date European run last year, with more shows possible.
